Ride Description:
This would be a good ride to get some last minute hill riding in before El Tour or just hill work in general. The larger climbs come in the first half and then it's a (mostly) downhill ride back to the start. There are some options when we get to the park besides doing the Cactus Forest Loop. See below.
This is a C paced ride meaning the final average should be between 12-14 MPH, though the pace during the ride may exceed that occasionally. Rider should stay within sight of the main group.
Details:
We will meet in the parking lot near Black Rock Coffee on Broadway and Prudence across from Culvers. We’ll cross Broadway at the light and ride east to Freeman Road. Then a right turn on Freeman to SNPE on Old Spanish Trail (OSP) where we'll regroup at the Ramada.
From there you can do a Loop around the park, ride out the the picnic area or just wait the the others to get back. After resting at the Ramada, we'll ride back OSP, Valencia, the Loop and Broadway. Find the route here.
Please bring your National Park pass, if you have one, to ride in the park or to allow entrance to riders who may not have a pass.
Wheels rolling at 8:00 AM. Please arrive by 7:45 AM to sign the ride waiver.
